Can I request a specific tutor?Yes! As long as the scheduling works out, we will do our best to pair you with the tutor you desire.

What can I get help with?The first thing students do after signing up is take a full length practice test that we use as a diagnostic to determine his/her starting plan. After beginning sessions, students will periodically be required to take additional practice tests that we use to assess and re-evaluate the student’s needs. Furthermore, student progress is tracked through our online system. Each student has access to a dashboard that contains all his/her homework as well as the full and partial tests that he/she has taken. Both parents and tutors also have access to this dashboard so that parties are all on the same page.

How do I get a tutor?After you sign up for sessions, we will contact you by phone and/or email to set things up. We'll try to be as speedy as possible, and usually can get the first session set up within a day or two. Even same day appointments are possible. If you would like to have the process expedited you can always call us at 650-283-6323.

What if I don't like the tutor?Well, we wouldn't have the reputation we do if that happened a lot! But... if for any reason you're unhappy after the first session with your tutor, we will be happy to provide an hour free of charge with a new tutor. Though all of our tutors are rigorously screened and highly qualified, it is possible (though rare) for there to be a poor match of personalities / tutoring needs. If this arises, we would be happy to find a more suitable match. However, it would be the second hour that is free of charge rather than the first.

Do I pay in advance, or do you invoice me?"To streamline things, we have our clients pay in advance through our website. If you need to make alternate arrangements, please contact us.

What happens if I miss a session or want to cancel a session?It depends on how much notice you give us. We require at least 48 hours advance notice to reschedule or cancel a session. If you notify us of an absence between 3 and 48 hours before the scheduled session, you will be charged for half of the scheduled time. Cancellations within 3 hours of the scheduled session will be treated as no-shows, and you will be charged for the full session. Exceptions can be made for serious illness or other significant extenuating circumstances.
